The church inspired the Crusades against the Muslims; the barbarism and wickedness of the Crusaders wiped out complete towns, attacked innocent women and children and were some of the bloodiest attacks of human history. While their motivations to seize, protect, and defend the Holy Land and its holy sites from destruction and occupation of the Muslims seem noble, their ways of war revealed that God was not with their efforts.\u003c/p\u003e    \u003cp align\u003d\"justify\"\u003eThe same fate may have happened to Islam, which was founded in a much more primitive society (i.e., easier to manipulate) than Rome. Prophet Mohammed probably created Islam with the purpose of uplifting the oppressed sections of the society and on the precipice of equality and non-violence. The Islamic world, today, lives in the age of the Quran, a book that was created by the very family that Mohammed fought against, by the very caliphs who exterminated Mohammed's family. Islam has probably regressed to the same stage as the Christians had during the Crusades. Hindu radicals have massacred hundreds of Muslims in India, probably misled and brain washed by selfish religious leaders. War, policy, and pretty much everything else that effects the growth of man as a species is driven by people who use religion to direct them. Perhaps, it is the evil in people that creates repressing forms of religion and takes advantage of innocent wayless followers, not the religion itself. But it still boils down to just one thing only, and that is religion. Maybe, mankind has not evolved enough to continue without religion. Maybe, we still need religion to curb our darker sides. But, this is the 21st century where science is flourishing and new discoveries are being made everyday.
